My name is Marten Lenstra, I live and work in Middelstum, a little village in the North of the Netherlands.
In 1970 I went to the "Vakschool Schoonhoven", the only school in Holland for gold -and silversmiths. I have degrees as goldsmith and as silversmith. This gives me the right to have a Makers Mark to put on my work next to the hallmarks.
After a year's apprenticeship in 1976 I started my own shop in 1977.
In thirty years I did a lot of jewellery repairs and commissions for jewellery, weddingrings, diamondrings and so on.
Later on I got more and more orders for modelships, oil-rigs and yachts.
A lot of the models I made are shown on this website.
